Michelle was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, grade 4 on 15th February 2019. She was 50 years of age, with sparkling blue eyes; a generous, authentic nature; creative intellect and a wicked sense of humour. Following Michelle’s brain surgery, she watched Anh Do’s interview with Carrie Bickmore. Inspired by Carrie’s words Michelle decided she would live the remainder of her days with “hope”. Michelle’s hope was based on personal goals including saying her vows at her wedding, attending her nephew’s wedding, travelling whenever she was well enough and spending time with family, friends and colleagues. Michelle passed away peacefully on March 10th 2020. Over the next month, Michelle’s wife, Jenni and extended family members Adele and Mariana plan to raise funds for research into brain cancer and thus continue Michelle’s legacy of hope.
If they collectively raise $3000 by March 10th 2021, they will shave their heads as they raise a glass to Michelle.
