Ronald McDonald House Westmead is a ‘home away from home’ for seriously ill children and their families. Last year alone we accommodated over 560 families from country and regional areas of NSW, interstate and overseas each year. On any one night we can have up to 109 people in our 18 rooms and five units. Our door is always open and the House welcomes families at any time, day or night, 365 days of the year. Sadly last year we turned away over 400 families that we could not accommodate.

When families have to travel far from home to receive specialised medical care for their sick child, seeking accommodation in an unfamiliar place only adds to their stress and anxiety - they need their families close by for comfort and reassurance. Though there is no place like home, Ronald McDonald House Westmead strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment where the whole family can stay together for the duration of their child’s treatment.

Our work, on behalf of seriously ill children and their families, depends on the commitment and passion of generous corporate and community donors and volunteers, who can provide essential funds and resources to assist in making a difference to those most in need.

Meet Sam, just one of the many children staying with his family at Ronald McDonald House Westmead while he undergoes treatment. Accommodating a family like Sam’s at Ronald McDonald House Westmead comes at a price. It costs $154 to house a family for just one night and many of our families stay with us for days, weeks and even months on end.

You can keep a seriously ill child close to their family members during the scariest time of their life, without the financial burden. With June 30 looming, now is the perfect time to donate. You can pick up the tab of one night by donating $154 by inserting this amount into the blue box in the checkout.
