Diabetes Australia is the national body representing people affected by all types of diabetes and those at risk. An estimated 1.5 million Australians are currently living with diabetes, and countless more are indirectly affected or at risk.

To build a healthy community, free of the burden of diabetes.
Our mission
To reduce the impact of diabetes through leadership, management, prevention, and research.
Our work
Diabetes Australia’s core focus areas are people affected by all types of diabetes, this includes people with Type 1 Diabetes, people with Type 2 Diabetes, women with Gestational Diabetes, people with other forms of Diabetes, their families and carers, and people at risk of developing Diabetes.
Our strategic priorities are:
Diabetes Leadership: National advocacy and raising the profile and awareness of diabetes at local, national and global levels.
Diabetes Management : National self-management programs and supporting Australians to effectively self-manage diabetes and prevent the occurrence of complications.
Diabetes Prevention: Prevention programs for those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and building healthier communities, workplaces and environments.
Diabetes Research: Funding national research and supporting researchers to discover new strategies for a cure, for prevention, and for improved management.
